A man was shot and killed early Saturday inside a residence in southwest Atlanta in what police say was a domestic dispute, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The man, who police said was in his 30s, was shot at least once, the station reported. The incident happened on Cherry Laurel Lane. His identity was not released.
A woman and her teen son were in the house when the shooting happened, Channel 2 reported. Police have recovered the handgun that was used in the shooting.
“Very early, very preliminary in the investigation, however we have determined that it was domestic in nature,” Atlanta police spokesman Capt. Ben McGee told Channel 2.
An officer on patrol in the area was flagged down about 2:15 a.m. and told of the shooting, Channel 2 reported. Police then entered the residence and found the victim. Also, a 911 call was made from the home at the time of the shooting.
No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
