A man was shot and killed early Monday at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta.

Police responded to a call about the shooting after 6 a.m. in the 1900 block of Bent Creek Way, Atlanta police Capt. Ben McGee said.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 60s dead from several gunshot wounds. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, and the man killed was a resident at the apartment complex.

“We do have two potential witnesses that we’re interviewing,” McGee said.

One witness told police a man and woman came to the Bent Creek apartment where the victim lived, and they started to argue with the man.

Gunshots followed, and the visiting man and woman fled the scene, police said.

“Evidence indicated that another person had been injured during the incident,” Atlanta police Officer Kim Jones said.

About an hour later, the woman was located at Atlanta Medical Center South with a gunshot wound to her hand.

“She is in stable condition, and is being interviewed by Homicide units,” Jones said.

Police don’t have a motive at this time.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner was on the scene early Monday.

No other details were released.
