A man accused of pointing a gun and yelling racial slurs at construction workers is in the Coweta County jail on aggravated assault and terroristic threat charges.

The six construction workers were paving an area on Standing Rock Road in Senoia on Sept. 17 when Harold Bishop, 72, allegedly pulled a gun on them and threatened to “kill all of y’all,” according to the police report.

Bishop left the area, but not before he was filmed by one of the workers. He returned later and threw a 40-ounce bottle of Budweiser out of the window, Officer W. Binion noted in the report.

Bishop smelled of alcohol, had to steady himself on his car and wasn’t responding to verbal commands, Binion said.

Officers arrested Bishop after the construction workers showed them footage of the incident. But they could not find the gun seen in the video, according to the report.

Bishop was taken to Newnan Piedmont Hospital for medical clearance before going to jail.

He also faces DUI and weapons charges and is in jail without bond. His court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
