A juvenile murder suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a man during an armed robbery earlier this month, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said.

The suspect, whose name and age have not been released, was taken into custody Tuesday at the Gallery at South DeKalb mall.

Omar Moorer, 24, was fatally shot July 6 inside a unit at the Ashgrove Apartments on Hambrick Road, authorities said.

When officers found the victim around 2 a.m., he was still conscious and able to talk, DeKalb police Capt. S.R. Fore previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“The victim was in serious condition but was responsive and told officers two subjects entered the apartment and shot him during a robbery,” Fore said.

Moorer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.

A warrant was issued Monday for the juvenile suspect, who was apprehended without incident Tuesday in the main corridor of the mall by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit and DeKalb police.
