A 7-year-old who was hit by a car while trying to dart across the street was taken to a hospital with injuries, Dunwoody police said.

The incident happened just before 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of North Peachtree Road, which is south of Chestnut Elementary School, Dunwoody police Sgt. Robert Parsons told AJC.com.

The child had non-life-threatening injuries, Parsons said. The specific injuries were not provided.
