About two miles from the stadium that will host the Super Bowl on Sunday, a man was found Friday morning shot dead in the driver’s seat of a car.
According to Atlanta police, the man was shot multiple times to the right side of his body in a car parked in the 1200 block of Mobile Street near Washington Park, just down the road from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Officers were called when he was spotted just before 2 a.m.
Several shell casings were recovered from the scene, police said.
There were no cameras at the property, and investigators are still looking for witnesses, Atlanta police Lt. Andrea Webster told Channel 2 Action News from the scene.
“At this point, we have no idea (of a suspect),” she said. “Officers received a call about somebody inside a vehicle shot, so we don’t have any witnesses at this point.”
While the man has not been identified, police described him as in his 20s, the news station reported.
