Firefighters rescue man after large tree crushes box truck in Atlanta

Firefighters were able to rescue a man trapped in a box truck after a large oak tree fell on it in northwest Atlanta on Friday.
The box truck was crushed in the 200 block of Blackland Road, Atlanta Fire Rescue said in a tweet. Power lines were also reported down as a result of the downed tree.

Tree branches also landed on a firetruck during the rescue, but no firefighters were hurt. The man who was extradited from the box truck is stable, the department said.

This incident comes after four Forsyth County firefighters were injured while responding to a call during severe storms Friday. One was injured when a burning house collapsed on him, and three others suffered minor injuries when their truck overturned on their way to the blaze.
