An inmate escaped Thursday from the Banks County Jail, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.

Paul Dylan Gross, 23, fled the jail’s recreation area about 6:55 p.m., Banks sheriff’s Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said.

Gross was being held on burglary, theft by receiving and obstruction charges.

The 5-foot-9 inmate weighs about 150 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes, McFaddin said. Gross is possibly wearing a white T-shirt and orange pants. He did not have any shoes.

Banks County K9 units were on the ground searching at 10 p.m.

Anyone who makes contact with Gross should call 911 immediately.
