The July heat that is customary for Atlanta will be in force Saturday afternoon. But chances of stormy weather will be low.

The chance of rain is at 20 percent for the afternoon, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said. After sunset, that possibility will be “tapering off.”

H0wever, caution is still advised. Heat indices will be in the triple digits, Walls said.

Saturday’s high is forecast at 92 in Atlanta, 95 in Eatonton, and 87 in Blairsville, Walls said. Sunday’s high in Atlanta is forecast at 92, with a 40 percent chance of rain.

The National Weather Service said wind gusts of up to 45 mph are possible Saturday, with frequent lighting.
