Investigators have identified the teenager accused of accidentally shooting a 14-year-old girl at a Beaver Ruin Road gas station, Gwinnett County police said Thursday.
The alleged gunman in the Oct. 6 shooting is 17-year-old Finess Hoff, according to police. The teen’s whereabouts, however, are unknown.
Police believe Hoff was one of four people inside a vehicle that stopped for gas at a Marathon station around 8:30 p.m. on the day of the shooting. While the driver was pumping gas, a 14-year-old girl inside the vehicle was shot, according to police.
Others in the vehicle got the girl out of the car and began administering first aid, police said. Hoff, however, moved over to the driver’s seat and drove away, leaving the injured teen and others behind.
The girl, whose name was not released, was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for treatment. Police later found the unoccupied vehicle in the Bradford Gwinnett apartment complex.
Hoff has been charged with reckless conduct and possession of a pistol by a person under 18, police said.
Anyone with information on Hoff’s whereabouts is asked to contact Gwinnett police. The teen may be driving a black or dark-colored Acura sedan.
