Gwinnett County police are investigating after teenage girls discovered a man’s body lying in the middle of a Snellville road Tuesday afternoon.

The man, identified Wednesday as 23-year-old De’Lano Plummer of Snellville, was shot at least once, but police have not released many details about their homicide investigation. Plummer’s body was discovered about 2:20 p.m near the intersection of Hightower Trail and Donald Road in the southern part of the county, authorities said.

It’s unclear if he was shot in the street or if he was killed somewhere else and taken there.

The road was blocked off with police tape for hours as investigators tried to piece together what happened. Detectives went door-to-door in an effort to track down witnesses or surveillance video of the incident.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Gwinnett detectives at 770-513-5300. Tipsters may remain anonymous and still be eligible for a cash reward by contacting Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
