A Gwinnett County motorcyclist died after a crash with an SUV in Athens on Saturday, police said.

Terry Patterson, 31, of Norcross, was driving on Oak Street around 10 p.m. when he crashed into the side of an SUV that was pulling out of Kent Street, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.

Patterson was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, where he later died, the newspaper reported.

The SUV driver was not injured and will not face charges, police told the Banner-Herald.

An investigation is ongoing.
