A teenager has been charged with felony drug distribution charges after a traffic stop in Canton, police said.

Angel Enrique Aquino, 19, of Canton, has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

An officer stopped a car full of people near Marietta Highway and North Etowah Drive on Friday afternoon.

Officer Pacer Cordry, a spokesman for the Canton Police Department, said inside the car were 20 grams of methamphetamine, about half a pound of marijuana and $1,800 in cash.

Cordry said the vehicle was pulled over at about 4:20 p.m. and the officer immediately smelled marijuana and searched the car.

Aquino, the driver, was the only one charged in the incident and was being held Thursday on a $22,400 bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
