A former agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was indicted Tuesday on charges of child molestation.

Charles Woodall, 35, was formally charged with six counts of child molestation, five counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and one count of violating his oath of office, according to the Macon Telegraph.

He was a GBI agent from December 2011 until his resignation on Oct. 7, the GBI said one day after his Nov. 9 arrest.

“After allegations of sexual misconduct by Woodall were reported to the district attorney, the GBI initiated the investigation on September 11, 2015, at the request of the Bibb County district attorney’s office,” GBI spokesman Scott Dutton said at the time.

The incidents in question date from 2005 to 2014 and include allegations that Woodall gave three boys pornographic images, encouraged them to perform sexual acts in his presence and touched the boys’ genitals. Bibb District Attorney David Cooke told WMAZ-TV last year Woodall knew the boys from church.

Woodall was the lead investigator in the case against Christopher Calmer, a Monroe County man charged with fatally shooting a deputy in 2014. It is unclear how Woodall’s indictment may affect the Calmer case.
