A Covington teenager allegedly strangled to death by her boyfriend will be buried Thursday, according to a funeral home announcement.

Family and friends can pay their respects to Alyssa Ann Wright, 19, at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. Friends can visit family from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home before the service.

Wright was killed last week after authorities say her boyfriend, Elijah William Ramoutar, 19, strangled her to death at his home.

Wright’s family said they aren’t sure what could’ve led to her murder.

“He was always a real well-mannered boy. I never had any problems with him, always been respectful,” mother Melinda Wright told Channel 2 Action News on Friday.

Ramoutar was arrested and charged with murder. He was denied bond at a hearing Dec. 7.

He remains in the Newton County jail.
