Two fugitives wanted for two apparently unrelated murders in the same Indiana city were arrested separately by police in Gwinnett County on Monday.

Shakidi Underwood, 18, was arrested when Gwinnett police made a routine stop of the Chevy Malibu he was riding in with his sister after she made an illegal turn near Lawrenceville. Officers could smell marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and determined that the driver, Porshanique Shaquay Johnson, 22, did not have a valid license, Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

While arresting Johnson, police also found marijuana on Underwood, Pihera said. A check of outstanding warrants showed he was wanted for armed robbery and murder in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Underwood and Johnson were transported to the Gwinnett County jail.

Also on Monday, Hozyfa Sultan, 24, was arrested at a residence near Snellville by FBI agents and Gwinnett police on charges of murder and attempted murder in an Oct. 22 killing in Fort Wayne, FBI special agent spokesman Stephen Emmett said in a news release.

Sultan will await extradition to Indiana, Emmett said.
