As three dogs attacked deputies, a Forsyth County woman attempted to hid her drugs, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Before 47-year-old Leigh Ann Kennedy was arrested Monday afternoon at her Parks Road home near Cumming, deputies were forced to shoot the pit bulls, Deputy Epi Rodriguez said. One of the two deputies received puncture wounds from a dog and was treated at a local hospital, Rodriguez said.

All three dogs were taken for medical treatment to a local veterinarian, but one was euthanized due to its injuries. The other two were treated for their injuries and were being quarantined at county animal shelter.

Kennedy was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methylphenidate, alprazolam, tramadol and marijuana, according to police. She also was charged with possession of amphetamine, more than one ounce of marijuana and drug-related objects.

Kennedy was being held without bond Tuesday night in the Forsyth County jail.
