An ex-restaurant owner in the Florida Keys could face up to 1,140 years in prison if convicted of more than 70 child porn charges against him.
Michael Savinelli, 49, was arrested on Nov. 17 after police found sexually explicit images of children on his computer, the Miami Herald reports.
Savinelli told investigators that he was the only one using the computer and would “go into chat rooms” to exchange child pornography with other users, the Herald reports.
Two days after Savinelli was arrested in November he posted a $36,000 bond at the Monroe County Jail.
An assistant state attorney said Savinelli faces 70 more felony charges after 69 more images showed up on his computer, including a child younger than 5 years old and a video showing sexual battery of a child, according to the Herald.
His new trial date is set for May 11 and will appear before a judge around 1 p.m., the Herald reports. A state attorney told the Herald that Savinelli will not be re-arrested but the state attorney will ask his bond to be re-set at $420,000 total, $6,000 for each charge.
