A registered, white English bulldog — which usually invokes iconic images among those connected to the University of Georgia — was reported stolen from a UGA student, according to a media report.

Robert Bell told police in Athens that he last saw his dog Chapel before leaving home Tuesday evening, but the dog was gone from her crate when he returned home early Wednesday, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.

It appears to be a burglary. The bottom glass pane of a side door was busted out, and Bell’s roommate, also a UGA student, said his room was gone through, but nothing was stolen, the paper reported.

Of course, UGA's legendary line of Uga mascots is made up of pure, white English bulldogs.
