Drug overdose suspected in deaths of 2 people found in Acworth home

Nov 11, 2015Investigators believe drug overdoses killed two people inside an Acworth home, police said Wednesday.
Police were asked to conduct a welfare check around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Thomasville Drive, off South Main Street, Officer Youlanda D. Leverette said. Inside the home, Acworth officers found a man and woman dead, Leverette said.
Neither the names of the man and woman nor their relationship has been released pending notification of family members, Leverette said. Police believe the two died from overdosing, but the medical examiner’s office is assisting with the investigation.
