Body found near I-20 ID’d as missing grandmother

UPDATE: DeKalb police identified the body found on I-20 near Flat Shoals Road as Millicent Williams, the 78-year-old grandmother who was reported missing July 27. 

Williams’ grandson Gregory Williams faces murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping and theft charges in her disappearance.

ORIGINAL STORY: A decomposed body was found on I-20 near Flat Shoals Road, DeKalb Police confirmed.

Authorities are not sure if the body is that of a man or a woman, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

An anonymous tipster notified police of the body about 6:30 p.m.

No other details were released.
