A 28-year-old Cumming woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian injured early Sunday morning.

Stephanie Anderson was booked into the Forsyth County Detention Center Tuesday on charges including felony hit and run, serious injury by motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and failure to stop and render aid, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release issued Wednesday.

The incident occurred at about 4:10 a.m. Sunday. The sheriff’s office said investigators determined that Anderson hit a pedestrian, whose name was not released, on Canton Highway (Ga. 20), then left the scene without getting help or reporting the collision.

The pedestrian was left on the side of the road with serious injuries. A passerby found the woman in a ditch at about 5:45 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.
