Clayton County police have identified a person of interest in a triple stabbing that left two teens dead and another injured.

Police are searching for Brandon Yeates, but said he is not a suspect at this time in the Tuesday night stabbing at Veracruz Apartments, Clayton police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how the stabbing unfolded in the apartment complex, located in the 6700 block of Old Dixie Highway in Forest Park.

Family members identified the victims as 16-year-old Demetrius Jackson and 18-year-old Monta Howard, according to Channel 2 Action News.

An unidentified 15-year-old boy injured in the incident was in stable condition Friday afternoon at a local hospital.

Natalie Jackson, Demetrius Jackson’s mother, told Channel 2 she had recently relocated to give her son a better life.

“Seven months later,” she said, “he’s gone.”

Natalie Jackson said she can’t wait for police to catch the killer so she can look him in the eye and show him what he took from her.
