Gwinnett police need your help identifying a man who they say tried to abduct a 13-year-old boy.

About 8 p.m. Monday, the boy was riding his bike in a neighborhood in the 2500 block of Letha Stills Drive near Dacula when a suspicious man approached him, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

According to Pihera, the suspicious man told the boy to “come here.”

The boy sped away on his bike, but the suspicious man, who was driving a newer model, 4-door passenger car that was black or gray in color, caught up with the boy.

“Soon after matching his speed,” Pihera said, “the suspect stopped and exited his vehicle. The suspect got about 10 feet ahead of the vehicle trying to approach the child. The child sped away toward his home.”

The suspicious man, described as having a closely shaven or bald head and a slender build, was last seen getting back inside the vehicle. He had on a red or black plaid shirt and black baggy jeans.
