A man is accused of firing gunshots at a South Fulton business, but police said he forgot about one crucial thing — a police precinct is across the street.

Quewayne Linton, of South Fulton, faces multiple felonies after allegedly shooting at the business off Lynmark Way near Cedar Grove Road on Thursday, South Fulton police said in a Facebook post. The Cedar Grove police precinct is located directly across the street from the targeted business, which police did not name.

Several officers at the precinct heard the gunfire and saw Linton firing multiple shots at the business, the post said. Once Linton spotted the officers, he’s accused of getting in a vehicle and speeding off.

Police did not chase the suspect “due to innocent bystanders,” the post said. Paulding County deputies helped arrested Linton in Dallas on Friday.

He’s been charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and first-degree child cruelty, the post said.

No other details were released.
