A Lithonia man is accused of masturbating near a Decatur bus stop while telling two underage girls who were walking by to come over to him, authorities said.

Michael James Sadler, 48, faces a charge of enticing a child for indecent purposes after allegedly yelling at the two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, on Friday, Decatur police said in a news release.

A little after 3:15 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of West Hill Street on a public indecency call. A witness said he saw Sadler touching himself through his clothes while standing at a MARTA bus stop, the release said.

The two teens walked by him on their way to a business when he allegedly tried to stop them by saying he had to ask them something, they told police. They ignored him, and on their return trip, they walked on the other side of the street.

However, he allegedly yelled at them to “come here,” which the witness saw, the release said. The witness then stayed with the two girls until officers arrived.

The teens said they could see Sadler “visibly massaging the outside of his groin area with his hand,” the release said. Sadler was booked into the DeKalb County jail, where he remained Tuesday evening, jail records show.

According to Georgia law, enticing a child for indecent purposes is a felony unless the victim is between 14 and 16 years old, and the suspect is 18 or younger and is no more than four years older than the victim.
