Things got a little heated this week when an argument over a Gainesville rental home turned into a brawl involving a knife and a frying pan, police said.
Hall County deputies on Tuesday arrested Kerderius De’Shawn Frasier, 23, and his girlfriend, 31-year-old Sheena Shanell Poole, and accused them of attacking a brother and sister with whom they were staying.
The altercation took place late Monday or early Tuesday at a home in the 1800 block of Athens Street, said Lt. Scott Ware, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
According to police, Skila Bell, who lived at the home with her brother, asked Frasier and Poole to leave, prompting an argument between her and Poole.
Bell’s brother, Jamal Brown, had apparently stepped in to try to diffuse the situation when Poole tried to hit him with a frying pan, deputies said.
Frasier then got involved, stabbing Brown several times in the back of the neck and in his hand, according to police. Brown required medical attention for the stab wounds, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Ware said.
Following the alleged assault, both Frasier and Poole left on foot, but not before Poole took Bell’s cellphone, police said.
Frasier and Poole, who each had outstanding warrants for their arrests, were taken into custody at the Sun Suites hotel on Jesse Jewell Parkway, police said. Both were charged with aggravated assault, jail records show. Poole also faces one count of theft by taking.
The couple remains held in the Hall County jail.
