A car that police said was taken during a robbery crashed and burst into flames Friday morning, authorities said.

Shortly after 11 a.m., a Fulton County police unit said they saw a suspicious vehicle containing three people near Roosevelt Highway and Sullivan Road. After running the license plate, police found that the car was stolen in a College Park robbery, according to an emailed statement from Fulton police Cpl. Kay Lester.

The police unit continued to follow the vehicle until backup arrived.

Police attempted to pull the car over, but the driver failed to stop, and crashed at North Camp Creek Parkway and Stone Hogan Road. The vehicle then caught fire, Lester said.

The driver and two passengers were then taken into custody. Their identities and conditions have not been released, and charges have not been disclosed.
