An Avondale Estates man thought he had set up a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl on his computer, police said.
But the girl he had sent lewd emails to was an undercover agent with the Marietta Police cyber crimes unit, according to police. And when Joe Harvey Sitz went to meet the girl at a residential subdivision across the street from Marietta High School last Friday he was arrested and jailed in Cobb County.
Now, Sitz has been charged with computer pornography - wireless internet; furnishing obscene materials to a minor by computer or electronically; and enticing child, court records show.
Sitz confessed in a video recorded interview to texting with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl, sending nude photos of himself, and going to meet her, according to the criminal warrant.
Sitz is out on $25,000 bond, which he posted Friday, the day he was arrested, according to Robert Quigley, spokesman for the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.
