Police were investigating an officer-involved shooting early Monday morning behind a motel in College Park, according to Channel 2 Action News.
College Park Police Chief Keith Meadows told Channel 2 officers heard gunshots near the intersection of Old National Highway and Godby Road just before 2 a.m.
“Shortly after, they were flagged down by two individuals who claimed that they had been robbed by three individuals,” Meadows said.
Officers spotted the suspects and chased them behind the Baymont Inn & Suites.
At that point, two College Park officers fired multiple shots at the suspects, injuring at least one in the leg and arm, Meadows told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore.
No officers were injured, and the suspect who was shot didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries, according to Channel 2.
Meadows said police arrested three people suspected of taking money from the victims and recovered one weapon in the incident.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the police shooting, and College Park is handling the alleged robbery, Channel 2 reported.
