A Cobb County man was killed and his wife was injured Friday night in a shooting outside a Marietta restaurant, police said.

About 10:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene outside the Pappadeaux restaurant in the 2700 block of Windy Hill Road, spokesman Dana Pierce said.

Anthony Welch and Cynthia Welch, both 48, were found shot, Pierce said.

The couple were walking to their car from inside the restaurant when they were approached by a man, Pierce said. The gunman left the scene on foot.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, Pierce said. Anthony Welch was dead on arrival. Cynthia Welch is expected to survive.
