The Clayton County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a May killing in Jonesboro.

Police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Sherwood Drive on May 16 and found a man dead from gunshot wounds.

According to authorities, witnesses described the suspect as “a black male with a medium brown complexion, short haircut and a neatly groomed beard, who is between the ages of 27-35 years old.” He is also said to be 5-foot-10 to 5-11 and 165 to 185 pounds with a medium build.

Police released a sketch of the suspect Friday night.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect has been asked to call either 911, Detective J. Carr at 678-610-4790, or the Clayton County Police Department’s tip line at 770-477-3513. Anonymous tips can be sent by texting the keyword “CLAYTONPD” followed by a message, then sending it to 274637.
