A Clayton County robbery suspect who reached No. 3 on the sheriff’s list of most wanted fugitives was apprehended in Florida on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Terrance Carter Williams, 19, was arrested for marijuana possession in Boynton Beach after residents called police to report a suspicious man selling drugs, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday in a Facebook post.

Williams was wanted for allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint in Jonesboro last July and reportedly gave the Florida officers a fake name during his arrest.

Following last year’s robbery, deputies said Williams fired several shots at his alleged victim through the open window of his car. Williams and the other man, who was also driving at the time, both crashed their cars, police said.

Responding officers discovered a handgun near Williams’ vehicle, a shell casing several hundred feet away and two bullet holes in the other car, police said.

Clayton deputies will head to Palm Beach County and bring Williams back to Georgia to face charges here.
