A Clarke County woman who was one of 68 people charged in a monthslong drug trafficking investigation has pleaded guilty in federal court, authorities said.

Latasha Bishop, 33, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of distributing methamphetamine, prosecutors said. She faces up to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine and four years of supervised release.

Of the nearly 70 people indicted as a result of the two-year gun and drug trafficking investigation, 45 have pleaded guilty, prosecutors said in a news release. Lazaro Hernandez, 28, of Cobb County, remains at large.

Dubbed “Operation Wu Block,” the investigation resulted in the seizure of more than 58 kilograms of methamphetamine, more than two kilograms of heroin, 31 firearms and $56,000.

Those charged face anywhere from five years to life in federal prison, authorities said.

“This investigation resulted in the removal of drugs, guns, money and over 60 defendants from our streets, which had an immediate impact on our communities,” FBI special agent Chris Hacker said in a news release. “Bishop is another of those defendants who is now being held accountable for endangering the people who live in those communities.”

Bishop’s sentencing hearing has not been scheduled, authorities said.
