Shortly after asking the public for help Tuesday night, Gwinnett County police were able to reunite a 2-year-old girl found wandering nude around an apartment complex with her parents.

The young girl was found walking around the Park on Sweetwater Apartments at 3400 Sweetwater Road in unincorporated Lawrenceville, Gwinnett police said in a news release.

The child’s family was found after the girl recognized her apartment and her dog’s cage on the patio, according to a Gwinnett police incident report obtained by AJC.com. The child’s 12- or 13-year-old sister was in the home, and she said she fell asleep while watching television about 6 or 7 p.m., which is when the little girl walked out of a patio door.

The girls’ mother works an overnight shift, so she wasn’t in the home, the report said. The home “appeared to be in a good, clean condition,” and a copy of the incident report was provided to the Division of Family and Children Services.

No one is expected to be charged in this incident.
