Body discovered in DeKalb landfill ruled homicide by police
A body was discovered inside the DeKalb County landfill Friday morning , authorities said.
DeKalb police and members of the department’s crime scene unit are at the Seminole Road Landfill along Clevemont Road in Ellenwood.
Police said the body of an unidentified black man was found after a county sanitation driver unknowingly transported the body from one of several dumpsters on his morning route to the landfill.
Police have not said how the man died, but they told Channel 2 Action News they’ve ruled the incident as a homicide. The county’s medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
If you've never been here, this is a very busy location. I've seen trucks come and go all day. We spoke to some drivers about this grim discovery too. See you at 4 with the latest on the investigation. https://t.co/XAW6lYAxhv
