Atlanta police are looking for help identifying three robbers they believe committed two armed hold-ups minutes apart in Midtown last Saturday.

Authorities hope a surveillance video, two sketches and a $25,000 reward will bring a tip from somebody who recognizes the men.

On Friday, Maj. Paul Guerrucci released a video of the three young men who he said carjacked a 71-year-old woman’s vehicle in a parking garage off Juniper Street. Fifteen minutes before that robbery, the suspects are believed to have tried carjacking a mother and her child outside their home on nearby Charles Allen Drive, Guerrucci said.

In the Charles Allen Drive incident, the woman’s husband interrupted the robbery and the three men ran off. The 38-year-old woman, who had a gun put to her head during the robbery, helped an artist produce sketches of two of the men whose faces she could remember, Guerrucci said.

“All carjackings are violent,” he said. “There were no physical injuries but anytime somebody is carjacked they are prone to (psychological and emotional) injuries.”

Guerrucci would not release detailed video footage of the actual carjacking or other details of the crimes for fear it could jeopardize the investigation.

Any information on the case can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). Tipsters do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward.
