Atlanta police call off search for 12-year-old boy

A missing 12-year-old Harper-Archer Middle School student has been found and is safe, Atlanta police said Thursday.

Police called off the search for Nakyris Ridley, who was reported missing Thursday after failing to return home from school Wednesday.

Before he was found, he was last seen by a friend at Avondale Apartments in the 2700 block of West Peek Road NW, Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.

Ridley has no medical history or previous runaway attempts, Jones said.
