A band of armed robbers has given new meaning to the term “brazen” after recently hitting a northwest Atlanta convenience store just before rush hour, and even turning customers away at the door during the crime.

The July 31 holdup at a Shell Food Mart in the 1800 block of Howell Mill Road NW was captured on store surveillance cameras and the footage was released Tuesday by the Atlanta Police Department.

The four suspects, who were without disguises in the video, didn’t appear to be fazed by the cameras.

Atlanta police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the robbing crew, and Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward. Police said they stole more than $1,000 and two cell phones.

According to a police report and store video, a silver Kia Optima and a black Toyota Tundra pulled up to the Shell Food Mart about 4:18 p.m.

A man in a red “ATL” T-shirt and a red cap entered the store to pay for gas. After going to the restroom, he left the store and the two vehicles drove away.

Nearly a half hour later, the man in red returned with three other men, this time on foot and with guns drawn.

The ringleader rushed behind the counter ordered an employee to empty the cash register and issued orders to the other suspects.

Another suspect was at the door, keeping customers trying to enter at bay. He appeared to explain why they couldn’t enter. Several customers turned around and walked away.

After a short while, the four suspects ran out of the store.
