Atlanta police and members of the Buckhead community partnered to offer a $25,000 Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to an arrest in two home invasions that police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News they believe are connected.

“We believe that the same perpetrators are involved in both crimes, and that means also that this could happen again,” said Sgt. Greg Lyon, with the Atlanta Police Department.

Investigators say the attacks happened Jan. 31 on Randall Mill Road and May 25 on Paces Ridge Road.

In both cases gunmen forced victims at gunpoint to drive them to an area ATM to take out cash.

In the recent case on Paces Ridge, police said gunmen got in through an unlocked door and confronted the family, including young children.

“Kind of scary because they obviously know what they’re doing and they haven’t been caught,” Atlanta resident Ashlee Forrester told Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri.

Police said the gunmen put towels over the family’s faces, and threatened and robbed them at gunpoint before leaving without hurting anyone.

Police said they want to know if anyone has surveillance video from the nights of the incidents.

The victims described their attackers, saying one was stocky with a mohawk haircut. The other was described as taller and thin with short dreadlocks and a light goatee.

Anyone with information in either case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. You can also submit information online.
