The last known suspect wanted in connection with a robbery turned homicide in Columbus was arrested early Saturday morning in Clayton County.

According to the Clayton County sheriff’s office, the department received a tip about 1 a.m. Saturday on the location of Corey Jenkins who was wanted out of Muscogee County for murder. Sheriff Deputies went to the address provided and Corey Jenkins was taken into custody without incident.

According to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer Jenkins was a suspect in 33-year-old Lacosta Williams’ fatal shooting Oct. 28.

Police say some of the suspects conspired to rob Williams while he watched his two children inside his Booker T. Washington Apartments home. Witnesses told police that four unmasked men entered Williams’ apartment, fired two shots and then fled.
