College Park police have released the names of two men wanted in connection with an early October shooting death.
Police are looking for Fernando Cartavios “Smoochie” Bennefield, 22, and Marquis Antonio Acree, 30, in connection with the murder of 36-year-old Timothy Carthan, Master Sgt. Jeff Hightower said Thursday. Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
Officers responding to the West Cove Apartments on West Fayetteville Road around midnight Oct. 3 found Carthan with multiple gunshot wounds, Hightower said.
According to witnesses, an armed man shot Carthan once, then seven additional times after he was already down, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
Carthan was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his wounds, Hightower said.
