Cobb police seeking man whose interest in girl deemed suspicious

Cobb police are searching for a man who they want to talk to because of suspicions about his intent toward a girl.

The man drove up alongside a girl walking on Landmark Way near Keith Avenue on Wednesday morning in Austell. He rolled down his window and beckoned the girl by telling her to “come here,” Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

The girl refused and ran away. The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit is now searching for the man to interview him.

The vehicle is described as a small, gold SUV or hatchback with a white stripe near the bottom that ran along all sides of the vehicle. It had four standard size doors, and no window tint or body damage. The vehicle did have a license plate.

The man is described as black and approximately 30 years of age. He had a medium complexion and was “skinny.” He was clean shaven and had short “afro style” hair. His eyes were small and bloodshot.

Anyone who may know or have information about this individual or his vehicle is asked to call 770-801-3470.
