BREAKING: Trooper killed in Florida highway shooting identified

Florida Trooper Joseph Bullock, who was shot Wednesday on Interstate 95 near Palm City, Florida, has died, according to a news release by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The officer reportedly was shot at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, causing northbound and southbound travel to be shut down, according to WSVN.
Bullock had worked for the Florida Highway Patrol for almost 19 years. The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office called the shooting a “felonious act.”
The suspect who reportedly killed Bullock was fatally shot by a Riviera Beach police officer who was passing by, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The name of the suspect has not been released, and it's unclear why he shot Bullock.

WSVN showed aerial footage of the blocked-off highway near the 107-mile marker and Martin County northbound rest area. Two other vehicles and two tractor-trailers remained at the crime scene.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was called in to aid the investigation, according to CBS12.
Authorities estimate I-95 will remain closed for investigation for “several hours.”
