A U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit stealth bomber was damaged during an emergency landing early Tuesday at Whiteman Air Force Base in Johnson County, Missouri, according to reporter Matt Flener of KMBC.

There were no injuries or fire associated with the landing, spokeswoman Jennifer Greene told Flener.

“The incident is under investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available,” Greene told Flener.

Greene told Flener the bomber made an emergency landing about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after experiencing an “in-flight malfunction” during a routine training mission.

The FAA issued a temporary flight restriction to provide a “safe environment for an accident investigation.”
