One dead, two injured in small plane crash near Miami

A student pilot was killed and a flight instructor was injured Tuesday morning in a small airplane crash near Miami.

According to local media and police, the crash happened in Miramar at the intersection of Pembroke and Hiatus roads.

A third person on the ground was injured by debris.

Police were advising motorists to avoid the area.

A large presence of police, fire and rescue personnel were reported on scene.
