Seven people were found shot to death in Alabama early Friday, after firefighters extinguished a blaze at the same location.

The bodies were found in Valhermoso Springs, an unincorporated town in north Alabama, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said a 911 call came in about 11:30 p.m. Thursday about shots fired on Talucah Road. Crews found seven bodies inside the home after putting out a fire at the scene.

The victims’ identities have not been released, but police have confirmed four men and three women, along with a dog, had been shot to death.

Police have said on social media there are no suspects in custody, but they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.

The FBI Violent Crimes task force has been called in to assist.
