Four Cherokee County high school students were taken to a hospital and 11 others reported injuries after their school bus collided with a passenger car Friday morning.

The accident at the intersection of Bells Ferry and Old Bascomb roads happened about 7:45 a.m., according to Capt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

A total of 32 Etowah High School students were on board the bus. Parents requested that four students be taken to the hospital, and the remaining 11 who complained of injury were checked out by medics at the scene, Baker said.
