Luggage scent from a flight led Atlanta police to investigate part of the international terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, officials said.

About 7:30 p.m., police were checking an “area of concern” after a police dog smelled a scent on one of the unit load devices that was carrying luggage from a Qatar Air Flight, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown said.

This prompted police to block of an area of the international terminal, Channel 2 Action News reported. Police and fire trucks were also stationed near a Qatar Airlines plane.

“When something like this takes place, there is a protocol that has to take place to determine the potential threat of the situation and ensure the safety of all those in the area,” Brown said.

Nothing was found during the search.

Officials gave the all clear about 8 p.m.

No other details have been released.
