Hagen Mills, an actor known for his role on FX's "Baskets," died in what police say was an attempted murder-suicide on Tuesday. He was 29.

Local police in Mayfield, Kentucky, told Variety that they believe Mills had held his 4-year-old daughter and the mother of his child, Erica Price, at their home Tuesday. At some point, he allegedly shot and wounded Price before turning the gun on himself. Price was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is reported to be in stable condition.

The child was unharmed.

Mills had lived in Hollywood for several years while maintaining a house in his home state of Kentucky, his mother told TMZ. Years after graduating from Western Kentucky University, the aspiring actor was featured in a string of short films.

In March, Mills posted a video from one of those short films, “Bonnie & Clyde Justified,” highlighting his acting.

In 2016, he played the role of Lucky in the first episode of FX’s black comedy series “Baskets,” which stars Zach Galifianakis. Most recently, Mills had a supporting role in the independent horror film “Starlight,” which is set to release Aug. 4.

A friend of Mills, Ra-Sean Oliver, posted a tribute on Facebook about him and sent well-wishes to Price as she recovers from the shooting.

“I knew bout every battle n demon he faced I never once judged bc that’s not who I am I tried my best to teach him,” Oliver wrote. “i spent a lot of late nights n the gym jus me n him trynna keep his mind in the right place bc I knew long as he was wit me he was ok. This a very tragic and unfortunate circumstance that happened. My heart goes out to the Riley family and Erica I’m praying for you and Yalls beautiful daughter Mila.”
